Beds are comfy and there was plenty of space for us all, the kids enjoyed having their own rooms. The space
Enjoy the very best experience of the Barcelona, Maresme coast in this fully equipped traditional, charming & fully equipped family house. Spread over two levels in the modernist beachside town of Canet de Mar.
In the centre of Modernist Canet de Mar, with two ample outside terraces, BBQ (Gas & coal) & comfortably sleeping 6 people you will enjoy local life and the convenience of the beach being just a 3 minute stroll. A fantastic space for a family or group of friends, with over 160m2 of living space.
With high speed Internet & high speed WIFI throughout this 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom family home is the ideal base to enjoy the best of the Costa Maresme & its activities, whilst being a short train ride from the centre of stunning Barcelona.
Redecorated at the end of 2018 and fully equipped with all modern amenities the ground floor is home to three bedrooms, the lounge, large modern kitchen, full family bathroom, office area and dining space. The upper floor to a private bedroom and full En suite bathroom.
You will have access to the entire house & outside entertaining areas during your stay.
The Ground floor
The Kitchen — Fully equipped with all the amenities you would expect to find in a family home. Oven, microwave, large fridge freezer, hob, toaster and dishwasher are provided for your comfort. There is a full service of plates, cutlery, cooking utensils, crockery, glasses, cups, cooking pots & pans & branded coffee machine enabling you to cook and entertain at home.
The lounge area comprises of a large dining table, comfy sofa and seating area, TV and coffee table so you can relax after a full day. There are also plenty of board games, kids toys and beach essentials for your use.
There is a small office space just off the lounge for those that wish to work during your stay.
Bedroom One — The Master bedroom, sleeping 2 people, with a comfortable double bed 160 x 200cm, quality bedding, plenty of wardrobe space, bedside tables, & lighting. Blackout shutters ensures a restful nights sleep.
Bedroom Two — An single bed 90 x 200cm and a small balcony to the street. Bedside lighting, and hanging space are provided for your comfort, quality bedding and blackout shutters ensure a restful nights sleep.
Bedroom Three — A comfortable single bed 90 x 200cm window the the interior patio of the home, plenty of hanging storage space, bedside lighting & quality bedding.
Family Bathroom — A full size family bathroom with large walk in shower, double sinks, WC and bidet. We provide all our guests with white towels for use within the apartment, along with a hairdryer, hand soap & shower cream.
The stairs lead from the lounge to the loft bedroom with private en suite bathroom with shower, WC & hand basin, comfy double sofa bed and a relaxing reading area.
The outside space comprises of two large terraces, the first off the lounge with traditional terracotta tiled floors, a large dining table & chairs and plenty of mature Mediterranean potted plants, palms, cactus & giant aloe vera plants ! The second terrace is reached via the traditional terracotta stairs to the upper terrace and if you stand on tiptoes you’ll see the sea! Here you will find a built in BBQ (Gas & coal) Large wooden dining table, seating & Sail like sunshade. A great space for entertaining with friends & family or sunbathing in private.
The house is a really comfortable space from which to enjoy the Costa Maresme, If arriving by car a public parking is just 100m away, its secure & economical and easily accessible whilst unloading luggage.
We also provide our guests with a ‘Beach pack’ , Umbrella, New beach towels, games, cool box & snorkels, so you can packlight — Great for families travelling with children.
All local amenities are on the doorstep. including a great fresh bakery, supermarket, local cafe, bank and plenty of restaurants.

Location
Canet de Mar is a town of the Maresme region. Located 40 km north-east of Barcelona and to the south of Girona, you can get there on National Highway II or on the C-32 motorway. With a population of more than 14,000 inhabitants, Canet offers to visitors a municipality open to the sea and surrounded at the same time by mountains, a beautiful contrast of shades of blues and greens where you can enjoy clean and tranquil beaches in ideal surroundings for walking or cycling in the mountains. One place that stands out is the Pedracastell hill, from where you are offered the whole of the coastline with impressive views of the region, and the Montnegre-Corredor, which forms part of the Serralada Litoral or coastal mountain range, which includes the Valley of Canet and protects the whole of the region and gives it such a privileged climate.
Apart from enjoying the excellent climate, the extensive beaches more than two and a half kilometres long and deep forests surrounding the municipality, Canet de Mar is the town where there is most modernist heritage in the least space.
Canet was home to the architect, teacher, artist, politician and humanist Lluís Domènech i Montaner. Here he conceived such important works as the Palau de la Música Catalana and the Hospital de Sant Pau i de la Santa Creu.
In Canet you will find the Ateneu Canetenc, now a library, the Casa Roura, today a restaurant, the Domènech i Montaner Museum House where the architect lived and worked, along with Can Rocosa, a Baroque country house of the 17th century which was the architect’s studio, all of which form a very interesting museum complex in the heart of the Modernist town. They are also many other buildings and homes in this architectural style from the late 19th century and early 20th by architects of the like of Puig i Cadafalch, Eduard Farrés, Rafel Masó, Rubió i Tudurí, Cabanyes, Guàrdia, Domènech Roura, Fragas, etc. Another necessary visit is the majestic Sanctuary of Mercy, with its Park and Restaurant, the work of Puig i Cadafalch. The cemetery, in typical Mediterranean style, has sculptures and modernist pantheons, as well as the noteworthy Neogothic Castle of Santa Florentina, rebuilt by Domènech i Montaner.
Canet de Mar is a town which enjoys festivals and culture with very open and participative townspeople. Throughout the year, a large variety of activities are organised for the whole population, which makes the town one of the most dynamic of the region. A small sign of this is the Local Festival in honour of St Peter and St Paul at the end of June, the Little Festival of Our Lady of Mercy on the 8th of September, the Festival of Repercussion for the Odeon in early June and the Castell Santa Florentina classical music festival during the summer. In September there is the Modernist Market Fair which cannot be missed and is held over the weekend after Catalan National Day (11 September), during which Canet goes back to the early 20th-century and dresses in its streets in festival dress with fun and cultural activities to show us the town’s modernist wealth.
The town is known for its varied and quality gastronomic offer with more than 30 restaurants specialised in Mediterranean cuisine and home cooking. The products of the garden, the land and the sea are very much present. One special item is the strawberry, which is cultivated in the land around the town and which is celebrated in gastronomic meetings in May, and the traditions of snails with onion or cooked in different styles, celebrated each year on the 11th of September with the snail cooking contest and popular tasting. The ‘vitralls dolços’, or sweet stained glass windows, created by the Guild of Bakers in tribute to Ll.Domènech i Montaner, is a typical product of the town.
